Simon Kinberg will jump from X-Men: Dark Phoenix to Logan's Run…

The long-in-gestation remake of Logan’s Run has, in the past, seen Bryan Singer and Joseph Kosinski both come close to directing the movie. Now, though, a new helmer has been found, with Simon Kinberg signing up to direct the film.

Kinberg has recently wrapped on his directorial debut, X-Men: Dark Phoenix, that arrives in cinemas this November. Peter Craig is set to pen the latest draft of the screenplay for new Logan’s Run. The lead role this time will be female, although no casting has thus far been announced.

Kinberg, a long-established writer and producer, firstly needs to complete post-production on X-Men: Dark Phoenix, and undertake the obligatory press tour. It may be that Logan’s Run will need to wait in line before production can begin.

More on the project as we hear it. It does, at least, look like it’s going to happen this time…
