Hit West End musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is getting a film adaptation, with the original team behind the show on board.

The hit West End musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is set to head to the movies, courtesy of a new deal that’s been inked.

Warp Films is reported to be working on the movie adaptation, that’ll be directed by Jonathan Butterell. It’s Butterell’s feature directorial debut, but he does know the material well: he’s the man who directed the stage musical.

Furthermore, Dan Gillespie Sells and Tom MacRae are penning the screenplay, having written the original production too.

The original musical in turn was inspired by a BBC Three documentary, Jamie: Drag Queen At 16.

The musical continues to play in London, where it’s a sizeable hit. Furthermore, if you can’t get to London and want to see the stage show, then it’s being beamed live to cinemas on Thursday 5th July. Check your local listings for more details there.
