Strictly Come Dancing 2018 has a new contestant in the form of Red Dwarf‘s Danny John-Jules. As a trained dancer, the actor, who plays Cat in the longrunning BBC sci-fi series, may have a little bit of an advantage against his fellow Strictly contestants, but he’s certainly not the only one – Steps singer Faye Tozer has also been known to throw a few shapes from time to time.
The award-winning dance competition will return shortly for its sixteenth series on the Beeb, and Danny and Faye will be joined by Katie Piper and Joe Sugg. Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts and celebrity NHS champion Dr Ranj Singh are also both strongly rumoured to want a chance at grabbing the Glitterball trophy this year.
“Having spent the last few months on two wheels motorcycling around South America in pink leathers, I’m absolutely delighted to be getting back on two feet and into something more comfortable like glittery spandex,” said John-Jules, after noting his place in 2018’s line-up on The One Show.
Any excuse to bring out the Tongue Tied video again, to be honest…
