Vin Diesel has got another 12 months to sort his motors out…

Universal is buying itself some breathing room with the Fast & Furious series, by delaying the release of Fast & Furious 9 by a year.

The movie had originally been announced for April 19th 2019, but no director had been announced. The film would need – haw haw – to get motoring early next year to stand a chance of hitting that date. However, Universal has announced a 12 month delay for the new movie, with Fast & Furious 9 now not set until April 10th 2020. Vin Diesel is leading the returning cast, and it’s expected that The Statham will be back in the ensemble too.

This presumably also has a knock-on for the previously-announced Fast & Furious 10, which had been due in 2021. Expect that to move back by at least a year too.

More on the movie as we hear it.
