Following the likes of Peaky Blinders, Hummingbird and Locke, we’re rather keen on the work of writer-director Steven Knight – and his latest movie looks well worth adding to our must-watch list.
Starring Matthew McConaughey, Serenity’s a thriller about a fisherman whose pleasant life in the tropics is ruined when his ex-wife (played by Anne Hathaway) shows up with her new squeeze (played by Jason Clarke). It turns out that Hathaway’s character doesn’t like her new husband too much, so she asks McConaughey’s Baker Dill to help get rid of him.
This, we’re guessing, is only the start of a twist-laden story, which also takes in great actors like Diane Lane and Djimon Hounsou.
Serenity‘s due for release on the 19th October.
