In the The Office: An American Workplace ep "Goodbye Michael" Pam says something to Michael with the mics off. Now we know what…

Seven years after Steve Carell’s Michael Scott said goodbye on The Office: An American Workplace…wait a minute. It’s been seven years since that? Time is moving so fast we’ll all be dust within seconds.

Anyway, seven years after Steve Carell’s Michael Scott said goodbye on The Office, Pam Beesly actress Jenna Fischer has revealed what her character said to Michael in their (almost) finale, un-microphoned moments together.

If you remember correctly, and you do, because time is accelerated as we’ve discussed and this may as well have happened moments ago, at the end of “Goodbye Michael,” Dunder-Mifflin boss Michael Scott is about to go through airport security and finally removes his microphone and hands it back to the “documentary’s” producers. Pam, having just been informed by Jim that it’s really Michael’s last day and not second-to-last day rushes to meet him at the airport and the two share a private conversation away from the prying ears of the microphones.

It looks a little like this.

Up until now it looked like this would remain a private moment between two characters and two actors who spent a lot of important, intimate time together. Thankfully, Jenna Fischer has decided we’ve waited long enough.

During an Instagram live Q&A conducted with Office fans, Fischer revealed to her followers what she really said. Instagram live videos don’t last long but Mashable transcribed the details for inquiring minds.

“That was me talking to Steve. I told him all the ways I was going to miss him when he left our show. Those were real tears and a real goodbye. That was a really emotional scene,” she said.

What did Pam/Jenna say to Michael/Steve in “Goodbye Michael”? The answer as it turns out is simply: goodbye.
